Job Overview:

The Instructional Designer position is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of instructionally sound eLearning modules, instructor-led courses, user guides, job aids, and other training resources for internal clients on a variety of topics.  The position will also design and implement performance support solutions by working closely with subject matter experts from across the organization.  In addition to creating new content, they will also maintain, update, and improve existing content.

This position is based at our headquarter office in Nashville but can be a remote position.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate instructional materials and programs

  • Works with internal subject matter experts in Sales, Underwriting, Claims, and Corporate functions to design, develop, and implement training solutions that drive performance and are consistent with internal standards and best practices

  • Designs and develops internally branded course curriculum guides for courses and/or program components

  • Builds templates and coaching tools supporting products and processes

  • Recommends and integrates performance improvement strategies

  • Possess a willingness to periodically extend workday/work week to meet defined timelines

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to learn and effectively use eLearning and editing software

  • Proficient in software and programs such as Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Share Point, and HTML a plus

  • Ability to apply adult learning principles to instructional design and development methodologies

  • Ability and desire to learn multiple systems and processes quickly

  • Ability to build and manage multiple partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are needed to communicate with partners and learners

  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under time pressure

  • Skillful with editing videos, graphics, and images

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related field from an accredited college or university or 5 or more years equivalent experience in instructional design/development preferred

  • 3 years in instructional design/development or degree in instructional design required

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.

  • May require prolonged computer usage with extensive and repetitive hand and eye movement.
