Company Overview:
We are principally a retailer, servicer and underwriter of non-standard personal automobile insurance based in Nashville, Tennessee. Our insurance operations actively generate revenues from selling non-standard personal automobile insurance policies and related products in 16 states. We currently conduct our servicing and underwriting operations in 13 states and are licensed as an insurer in 13 additional states.
 
At March 31, 2017, we leased and operated 355 retail locations and a call center staffed with employee-agents. Our employee agents primarily sell non-standard personal automobile insurance products underwritten by us, as well as certain commissionable ancillary products. In most states, our employee-agents also sell a complementary insurance product providing personal property and liability coverage for renters underwritten by us. In addition, retail locations in some markets offer non-standard personal automobile insurance serviced and underwritten by other third-party insurance carriers for which we receive a commission. In addition to our retail locations, we are able to complete the entire sales process over the phone via our call center or through the internet via our consumer-based website or mobile platform. On a limited basis, we also sell our products through selected retail locations operated by independent agents.

Responsibilities



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Together with the SVP, create and drive marketing strategy and planning. This includes specific focus on brand strategy, brand building, offer development, creative ideation, messaging, media placment and all related broad reach communication. 
  • Supervise a team of 3 specialists, including social media, corporate communications and retail marketing.
  • Align retail marketing strategy and goals with eCommerce strategy and goals.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for, and manage the projects and expenses of external agencies.
  • Manage adherence to brand standards throughout the organization.
  • Develop the annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary for the company.
  • Provide input to market and competitor analysis.
  • Develop and deliver marketing source reporting for all offline activities.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient fulfillment of field marketing requests.
  • Assist in preparation of company and senior executive presentations to showcase marketing activities and results.
  • Be vigilant regarding budgeting and negotiation. Ensure best pricing from all suppliers and partners.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or other related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of relevant experience required.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in retail or other multi-unit business, and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in retail, guerilla marketing.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services sector preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development and planning and promotions/advertising.
  • Must have experience managing relationships with outside agencies.
  • Must have keen ability to re-prioritize when diversions occur.
  • Must possess effective negotiation skills.
  • Must be accustomed to working in a “lean” environment, and embrace the opportunity to wear many hats and perform duties, as well as supervising a team who is executing against a plan.
