The Payroll Specialist II will focus mainly on collecting, reviewing, and correcting data for processing within the system of record; serving as a liaison with HR in order to maintain a clear line of communication of all changes; with a  focus on taxation set up and changes for federal, state, and local taxing jurisdictions.This position will also incorporate a variety of other tasks related to payroll processing and required reporting.

Ideal candidate must have strong familiarity of components of Workday payroll processing.


  • Process Payroll (1300+ Team Members)
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the payroll database to create Ad-Hoc reports on demand
  • Provide reconciliations for third party vendor transactions
  • Ensure all tax changes are accurately recorded within the system
  • Identified knowledge of processing manual checks and adjustments
  • Familiar with 3rd party sick pay regulations and payments
  • Provide Multiple Work Site and Bureau of Labor Statistic Reporting according to schedule
  • Understanding of Medical Support Orders
  • Provide quarter end and year end support for reconciliations
  • Assist with all audits required within the payroll department
  • Assist Accounting with inquires pertaining to the GL


  • Bachelors degree or related experience
  • Strong familiarity of components of Workday payroll processing
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills; knowledge of lookup functions and pivot tables
  • Experienced with outsourced and in-house processing
  • Multi State Taxation Reporting (knowledge of reciprocity when applicable) and local tax requirements
  • Compliance driven
  • Ability to work independently and escalate issues as needed
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to work under tight deadlines, with flexibility
  • Able to deal with difficult, sensitive information and have the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities
